Interview with Summer Anderson
When Summer Anderson visited Denmark in July 2004 she agreed to answer some questions from the Newsletter Members.
We thank Summer for taking the time and we hope you all have a riot reading her humorous answers.

Where do you live?
"I live in my own apartment in Los Angeles."
What do you do for a living?
"I write music with Clark whenever possible - But I have a full-time job as "Production Coordinator" for an Advertising Agency in Venice Beach, CA. It's a great position, but it's not musical at all. :-(
However - it does pay the bills, Y'know?!"
What do you do in your spare time?
"Read, write, hang with friends, and ALWAYS laugh!!!"
What music do you prefer?
"Everything from Opera to Techno - - BUT NOOOO country music, yikes!!!"
What is your favorite restaurant?
"Hmm - I have two:
1.) "Kings Seafood Restaurant" The Commons in Calabasas, CA
2.) "McCormicks & Schmicks Restaurant" 1st Ave. in Seattle, WA"
When did you first meet Clark?
"We met in middle school. We were both new students at school and we rode on the same bus together. The first day of school we sat next to each other on the way home and became best pals."
Are you guys anyway related, since you share last names?
"Not related.
However - I believe Clark is my soul mate. Fate brought us together on that little school bus years ago - and I whole-heartedly believe it was meant to be. He has become a "little brother" to me! He is my family in Los Angeles."
How did the two of you pass time as kids?
"We sang ALL the time! - He'd sit at the piano for hours and we'd sing together. (Still do sometimes.) In High school we sang at weddings - it was most fun!"
What was he like as a kid?
"He hasn't changed- - - He's full of energy, laughter and freaks out if he doesn't get his ice cream!"
What's the best thing Clark have ever done for you?
"The best thing Clark ever did for me - Uhm - Well, I had just graduated from high school, and was taking classes at a local college for design. . .I was confused because I wasn't sure what I wanted to pursue as far as my studies went. I was kind of upset about it, you know - unsure of myself...
And he called me from out of the blue - and asked me to come to Los Angeles to help him do some studio vocals for him for a few months... So - I packed up my stuff in Seattle, and moved to L.A. - - -
I never went back home, to Seattle. I've been in Los Angeles ever since. Clark basically changed the course of my life and I will forever be in debt to him for that. - I fell in love with Los Angeles and with the help of Clark, discovered my true calling in music."
What is it that makes Clark such a special friend?
"Well as you all know - Clark has a quality about him that draws a crowd. He possesses something very special that makes us all want to be closer to him.
One of the many things that makes him such a special friend for me - is the fact that no matter how rough my life can get at times... he always takes time out to help me find my smile again. And my goodness, he makes me laugh so hard sometimes I cry from giggling too much. He's the best!"
Do you ever argue with Clark?
"In about 15 years, I can only remember one big fight we've been in. Clark and I chat almost everyday. During that argument though, we didn't speak for almost a week. It was terrible - I wanted to die. Hehehe Just kidding - I think I wanted to kill him! Hah!
When we get annoyed with each other we just hang up the phone or "Appear Offline". We're pretty good at reading each others' moods, now."
Does Clark have any bad habits?
"Yes - in fact, I really noticed it while visiting him in Denmark. Everywhere we went we had to stop for ice cream. It was weird. If we were walking by an ice-cream stand in the morning, noon or nighttime - he would make me stop and wait for him to get a cone... He was like a little child about it - Ice-cream junkie - BAD!"
Have you and Clark ever traveled away on holiday? If yes...where?
"The closest thing to Clark and I taking holiday was when we flew an hour north to San Francisco to record our song "So Amazing". And we sat next to a crazy old woman and I was sandwiched between Clark and the "Crazy" - Right in the middle seat - and Clark kept singing songs about crazy people and giggling. I was scared because I thought Crazy was going to bop me on the head....So, I tried hard not to laugh during the entire flight. . .But ended up covering my face in Clark's shoulder and smothering my own laughter anyway. Poor Crazy!
Ehm San Francisco reminds me so much of my home in Seattle - it's a lovely, lovely city! But that particular trip - Clark and I stayed in the studio most of the time."
What do you think of Clark's music and performance?
"Oh I think Clark's talent and knowledge of music can teach us all something about ourselves. He is innovative, extremely thoughtful and creative in the way he writes. All of us should be blessed with such brains, and talent!!! His music is delicious!
Clark's performance is like a fireworks show - It demands your attention, tickles your insides, and leaves you wanting more."
What do you think about all the attention Clark gets from female fans?
"Oh the girls - - - - I love them - I think it's so neat that he has gained an audience. It was surreal to see him on stage and watch all his beautiful fans cheering him on. He's quite a handsome thing, isn't he? Eye candy!"
Isn't it weird being friends with a superstar?
"Clark has ALWAYS been a superstar. It's not weird."
Do you think Clark is good-looking?
"Absolutely!"
How much of Clark's music have you heard?
"All of it. I have also had the pleasure of writing some with him."
Have you seen "Living Out Loud? if yes...what was your reaction?"
"Yes, Clark took his mom, his sister Erika and I to the premiere of Living Out Loud. It was an absolute RIOT to see him on the big screen! We laughed a lot during his scenes because it was so cool to see him up there; acting in a real Hollywood film- I thought he did a fantastic job."
Was it hard seeing Clark travel so far away to sing with Safri Duo?
"No - Quite the contrary - It was exciting and so very thrilling. I thought: "Finally - he gets to follow his dream AND travel at the same time"... Now who could ask for anything more????"
Have you been to Denmark before?
"No."
What do you think about Denmark?
"Denmark changed my life in so many ways. It opened my eyes to a whole new world. Made me feel free, discover and re-discover new ideas and thoughts within myself. Being there was a new reality. The land, the cities, the people - just absolutely dream-like.

Did you make any friends while you were here in Denmark?
"Yep! The first day I met Safri & Crew as well as Nickie & Bente - I felt right at home. It was like hanging out with old friends. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to meet everyone. They were welcoming, friendly and made me laugh all the time!
What things did you like the best in Denmark?
"Whew - uhm... It was ALL the "BEST"!!! Ehm, I think the most intriguing part was the architecture. I am fascinated by it... Would have loved to have spent more time in all the cities we visited. Just to walk around and explore the homes and buildings. And of course, the people I met who I miss so much. Everyone was SUPER sweet to me - It really made my visit a treasure!
Did you learn some Danish while you were here?
"Tak" and "Kroner". Hehehe.
Would you like to return to Denmark sometime?
"I want to go back like, yesterday! Yes - OF COURSE!!!"
If you could live another place than where you live now....where would you choose to live?
"If I could - I'd try living EVERYWHERE for a while! But - I've always been interested in living in Hawaii for a few years. My mother used to take me there every year as I grew up- so I know my way around the islands. It's gorgeous! It would be fun, I think. Although - after being in Denmark - there's always room for new possibilities, right?!!!"
Did you go sightseeing while you were in Denmark?
"Yes. We went to see the Mermaid. It was raining so hard, and Clark took a picture of me and I totally laugh at it all the time because I look like a little troll standing next to the mermaid. Guess you'd have to see it! It's damn funny! Clark also showed me a castle, took me shopping and I had the fantastic opportunity of traveling with Safri Duo to see various, beautiful cities. It was amazing!"
What do you think about Safri Duo?
"I think Safri Duo is whip-smart drumming, intelligent talent and SO MUCH FUN to rock out to.
After meeting Morten & Uffe I am now also a part of The Safri Duo Craze!!!"
What do you think about Safri Duo's performance?
"Safri Duo live on stage - is one of the most incredible shows I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. It is high energy - exciting - it's a frenzy of exhilarating passion. You have got to be there to understand the power of their physical presence."
Have you become a Safri fan?
"Without a doubt!"
What do you think Clark would have become if he hadn't focused on music?
"An angry man."
If Clark was an instrument, which one would he be and why?
"I think Clark would be a sax. It's sexy, moody, can make you feel soft and silky but can also create a sense of urgency and anticipation."
What´s it like going out Saturday night with Clark and Summer?
"Oh a Saturday night with the Andersons... Hmmm - It's like big, heavy, craziness! TONS O' FUN!!!
A huge gathering of friends and friends-of-friends, lots of cologne and perfume and an earful of chatter and good laughs!
However - "Clark & Summer Saturday nights" have basically ceased to exist since he's been traveling so much. But it's a good thing - I'm so proud of him!"
Have you and Clark ever dated?
"No. We were little kids when we met!"
Do you know if Clark is dating?
"Yes - Clark is dating."
What is Clark´s dream girl like?
"Clark's dream girl - from what I have known and seen over the years - is what every single woman on earth wants to be. . . . DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! Unstoppable beauty - all heads turning, music stops, jaws drop. Hhehehe - I think he'll find her in no time since all the women I saw in Denmark looked like models! Real, beautiful people there!"
Who is better looking? Clark Anderson or Johnny Depp?
"Who submitted this question? Heheheh - CLARK ANDERSON ALL THE WAY!!!!!! But Johnny is a VERY close 2nd! (Sorry Johnny!)"
Which season do you and Clark love the most?
"SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER - What a silly question!!!"
